Umberto Branchini’s training is multidisciplinary. Having graduated in sculpture from the Brera Academy in Milan, he has worked in the worlds of art, design and fashion. His eclectic experience has an extraordinary influence on his work as an interior designer. It is expressed in the creation of a sophisticated product with a special conception of spaces, colours, construction and details.
The essence of design for Umberto is to create unique places each time, where individual elements are customised for each client. Each project results in a completely new expression of creativity aimed at a specific space so special that it reflects the personality of the client. Umberto conceives of each of his works as an art installation, from the door to the sofas, from the carpets to the lighting and finishes. Even in numerous projects and commissions abroad, he considers his being born and raised in Italy as a great privilege that allows him to develop a natural aptitude for detail and quality. The synergy between Umberto and local craftsmen is fundamental in his work and is always based on mutual understanding, curiosity and experience.
Precisely because of these special characteristics, in 2017 he was invited to participate as a speaker at the Business of Design Week in Hong Kong, Asia’s most important design forum.
